The Linz Center of Mechatronics (LCM) GmbH is an Austrian expert in mechatronics and has been developing highly innovative electronic sensor systems and radio connections since more than 10 years. In cooperation with Microtronics, LCM will develop innovative complete systems for the Internet of Things.
Complete systems for an increased speed-to-market
The trend of connecting products to the internet (connected products) in order to provide information via smartphone app or website is becoming a standard in more and more sectors. Customers are used to getting information, products or services at the touch of a button. It is important for companies to test ideas for connected products quickly and to increase their speed-to-market if they want to meet their customers’ expectations and stay competitive.
Complete systems for the realisation of connected products help to save resources for know-how generation and in-house development. They support companies in increasing their speed-to-market, from the Proof of Concept through to the market-ready product. The big advantage of these systems is that they work like a building kit and comprise different components or tools. The project’s required components like hardware, software or data transmission technology are selected individually.
Mechatronics meets Machine-to-Machine
LCM is research and development partner for various national and international companies. As one of the world’s leading experts in mechatronics – an intelligent fusion of informatics, mechanics and electronics – the LCM’s researches and developments provide the basis for smart, connected and autonomous systems that are for example used in the automotive and healthcare sector.
The LCM chose Microtronics as its Machine-to-Machine (M2M) partner. In this partnership the know-how in wireless data transmission for Internet of Things applications and the know-how in sensor and radio applications is melted. It is the cooperation’s aim to develop solutions for wireless applications for different sectors.
